Scalability & Redundancy
Cass is the largest provider of utility expense management in the United States, processing more than 27 million invoices annually for utility and other facility-related expenses for 600,000 locations across the country. Our technical capabilities and standardized processes create a very scalable, cost efficient and high-performing utility bill payment system.
Cass Manages Continous Growth
Our systems and staff implement new business every month, ensuring that adding tens of thousands of sites per year is done seamlessly, with no effect on invoice processing performance. With its scalable IT architecture, you can be assured that as your business needs change, Cass will always be able to accommodate your future growth.
Redundant Facilities Ensure Cass Maintains Continuity
Financial holding companies such as Cass must maintain continuous business operations and superior controls. As a regulated financial institution, Cass operations and processes are reviewed by the Federal Reserve and state auditors. Capital investments are constantly made to insure our infrastructure supports scalability and uptime. With $1.5 billion in assets, Cass has the financial strength and stability to continuously invest in best-in-class technologies to support its operational needs and commitment to SOC 1 Type 2 (formerly SSAE and SAS 70) compliance.
Cass maintains two operational “hot sites” – one in St. Louis and one in Columbus – with each data center deploying the latest technology to enable continuous operations. While Cass tests its business continuity processes regularly, the plan had a “live” test in September 2008, when the remnants of Hurricane Ike caused a disruption of the public power supply to our Columbus, Ohio facility. The Cass processing center was off the grid for two and a half days, but operations remained in production due to flawless execution of our business continuity plan, which includes activation of back-up power supplies.
In a business where hours and days matter, it is imperative your utility cost management provider has similar protections, but few do. It is part of the “Cass Difference.”
