Operations Lead

The Operations Lead is responsible for providing leadership and training to an assigned work group including coordinating production workflow, monitoring quality, providing feedback to achieve continuous improvement within the work group.  Additionally, Leads will be responsible for identifying trends/errors, reviewing exceptions, testing new account and system changes and communicating issues with Supervisor and if needed other departments.  Leads will back up their Supervisor when Supervisor is out of the office.

Primary position responsibilities:

  • Provides all training and refresher training for group regarding new accounts, new procedures, changing procedures, ergonomics and quality issues

  • Evenly distributes daily work to operators, working with other ops groups to maintain daily work flow within the department and keeping overtime to a minimum, monitor’s workflow throughout the day; adjust work as needed

  • Quickly and accurately resolves account issues and questions, being sure to communicate findings to supervisor and if needed, other departments

  • Establishes group controls, procedures with supervisor input and monitors and documents’ employee quality and performance to those standards

  • Establish behavior and work standards that foster teamwork and cooperation within the unit

  • Communicates quality and performance issues to Supervisor

  • Participates in performance evaluation ratings and performance evaluation meetings for employees in the work group

  • Offers input to improve procedures and quality and increase processing efficiencies.  Encourages this input from operators within work group

  • Participates in interviewing prospective employees

  • Tests new accounts and system changes, noting any issues and communicating with supervisor and if needed other departments

  • Reviews exception items requiring immediate handling and communicate/train appropriate parties as needed

  • Performs batch adjustments for operators as needed

  • Generates work logs and other required reporting

  • Monitors operators to assure an ergonomically correct set up and posture is being utilized

  • Performs other special projects as assigned

  • Works overtime as required by management

  • Ability to coach and develop employees in a positive and supportive manner

  • Well organized

  • 1+ years of data entry production/operations experience or equivalent

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities generally acquired through one year experience handling progressively complex tasks
