Cass Information Systems grew out of the services originally offered by Cass Commercial Bank. Cass Bank began as a neighborhood bank in a primarily residential neighborhood in 1906. As the area changed from residential to commercial Cass changed its orientation towards serving the needs of businesses in the area. |

Cass Bank pioneered bank freight payment in 1956 with its FreightPay® services. Successful on a local basis, this service was introduced on a national level. Additional freight-related services followed such as auditing, accounting and transportation cost center information. With the deregulation of transportation in the 1980s and the insatiable demand for information to better manage this critical corporate function Cass Information Systems, Inc. was formed. With the creation of Cass Information Systems, we provided not only freight auditing, payment and information services, but other payable and transportation-related systems for our clients. |

In the mid-1990s energy issues leapt onto the front page every newspaper in America creating top-of-mind awareness of the need to reduce energy expenses. Cass recognized this as an opportunity to provide payment and information solutions to large energy users. Today Cass is the premier provider of back-office utility information in North America. |

 |
Leveraging Cass' core competencies, the addition of Telecom Expense Management Services in 2004 provides another valuable service to major corporations. |

 |
Beyond pioneering freight payment and back-office utility information services, Cass has introduced many other industry innovations, including incorporating advanced technology in our information service offerings. We continue to invest in technology that leverages the way information is acquired, warehoused and delivered. |
